School Objective
"The Arizona Carpenters Apprenticeship and Training Program is a joint Labor/Management training system established in 1946. It is a registered apprenticeship program with the State of Arizona and the U.S. Department of Labor."

Admission/Entrance Requirements

  1. Must be 18 years of age.
  2. Must be drug free.
  3. Must have reliable transportation.


Length of Study
6000 - 8000 On-the-Job (OJT) Hours

Day or Evening Classes
Day classes only, 40 hours per week: 4 weeks per year. Remainder of time spent on the job.

Class Size
5-30 apprentices per class.

Degree/Certification at Graduation
All apprentices receive 40 hours college credit through GateWay Community College, which can be applied to an Associate Degree in Construction Technology. At completion, participants receive a Journeyman Certificate from the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, along with Apprenticeship Completion from Arizona and the U.S. Department of Labor.
